The Graphic Design Plays a Minor Role in Web Designing

The best sites are highly functional. They are oriented tasks. Graphic design is an important but limited role. Do not try and push the Web to be something that is not.

Have you noticed such as Flash intros are disappearing? A few years ago were everywhere. I asked thousands of people in about 35 countries what they do when they see a Flash intro. Skip intro is the universal response.

A flash intro is an attempt to fourth category of a television commercial, made by people who do not have the opportunity to create real business. They were invented by graphic designers desperate to turn the Web into another television, they want to be very cool and win design awards.

As in the Annual Communication Arts Magazine Award (Annual Award for Communication Arts Magazine). One of the winners of the 2005 has beautiful graphics (another winner is the site of an annual report of 2003, imagine the odds). A small problem, however, is that the winner has classified its products as follows: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8â € | Very intuitive. Totally worthy of a prize for a design of a unique e-commerce.

Of course Nike won a prize. Always gets excellent reviews by those who understand art, design and such things. Nike has a site you’ve never visited without finding any problem. But I decided to give him another chance.

Nike.com still has such a radical design with innovative Web browsing on the move. I choose Europe, then English, then Football. I arrived at the site of Football. There is a great picture of his majesty Thierry Henry. And just to the right side of Thierry is a classification: Europe, Latin America, North America, Aria / Pacific. I can not believe it (Translator’s note: At time of publication of the translation site of the Nike Football has changed and you can not see this fact).

At least one other winner over 2005 is a navigation that changes when the mouse is near it. Imagine that they are driving. They see signs later, but as you get close, this begins to move. Really be impressed with such markings.

No one would be authorized to design traffic signals that move. However, when designing navigation menus such win a design award. Why are so many experts in graphic design who have no idea yet on the web after all these years?

We no longer have the excuse that the Web is new and nobody really knows what works and what does not. Why not Google or Skype win one of these prizes? Why is this art and innovation are locked into that world in which to win a prize you have to look visually?

If the prizes of the journal Communication Arts were a parody, definitely would be worthy of any awards. But they are not, and on the contrary makes a great disservice to the discipline they are trying to promote.

There are young Web designers out there getting the message absolutely wrong. The Web is, at heart, a functional, focused on the tasks. If you want to web design chennai a modern Web, look at Google, Skype, eBay, Amazon. These sites earn money by giving solutions to real needs.

Your Web site should be usable. You must be quick and convenient with a navigation that is familiar and simple. The Web is not a brochure or folding, nor an annual report, not even a television commercial. The Web is the Web by Web design India

Graphic arts refers to the artistic interpretation and creation of design through artistic expression. In other words, graphic art is the art of visualizing ideas.
